Kevin Hines:
My name is Kevin Hines. I jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge. I believe that I had to die, but I lived. Today, I travel the world with my lovely wife, Margaret, sharing stories of people who have triumphed over incredible adversity. Now, we help people be here tomorrow. Welcome to the HINESIGHTS podcast.
Margaret Hines:
What is the most important thing that people should know about behavioral health challenges and recovery?
Kevin Hines:
The most important thing, I think, that people should know about behavioral health challenges is that they last a lifetime, and what they should know is that they, you can recover from them, but you will always be in recovery. That's my opinion, that's how I feel. I think people should know that these are situations that occur, not necessarily because we want them to or because we're doing things to make them occur, but they can occur because of things like trauma, they can occur because of things like life issues, they can occur because of brain, chemicals in the brain that affect the way you think, act and feel, or they can occur because of all of the above. And people need to know that they're treatable, that you can find wellness within these behavioral health challenges. And what, and, and not only can well as be achieved, but I think it's plausible, most likely, with a lot of hard work, a lot of dedication to battling that behavioral health challenge, and learning how to live well.
